Ten Negrense high school students who are scholars of Miyakonojo Higashi High School in Miyazaki Prefecture claim their passports from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), yesterday.
The students who are bound for Japan for a three-year scholarship were assisted by the staff of DFA led by Carolina Constantino, Officer-in-Charge of the Regional Consular Office – Bacolod.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. expressed his gratitude to Constantino and her staff for helping the students process their passports.
He also said that this is a big break for the students to study in a prestigious school abroad and that they will have more opportunities for further studies after graduation.
The students also started their Japanese language and culture training at OISCA Training Center in Bago City and are bound to leave the country in March next year.*/Capitol News
