Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. led in the ceremonial turnover of the Backyard Broiler Project to beneficiaries at the Gawad Kalinga (GK) – Sinigayan Village in Sagay City, yesterday.
The beneficiaries were given equipment as well as chick housing project to raise the 45-day chicks that include feeders, waterers, sacks and feeds. The first batch of chicks will be ready for harvest by the second week of March.
Gov. Marañon advised them to make good use of the project to make it sustainable so that it will augment their income.
Vice Mayor Kent Javelosa pledged to hasten the provision of electricity for the 39 families in the village.
The same project will also be implemented in the municipalities of Manapla, E.B. Magalona and Pulupandan.
Also present in the activity were Executive Asst. to the Mayor of Sagay, Arthur Christopher Marañon and some GK officials, among others. /Capitol News
