Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. led in the turn over of various agricultural equipment and tools worth a total of P15 Million to farmers from the different cities and municipalities of the province who are members of the Irrigators’ Associations, in a ceremony held in Bago City, Wednesday.

The farmers received threshers, mini-wheel drive tractors, weighing scales, harvesters, sprayers, grass cutters, centrifugal pump and engines, floating tillers, and other farming tools.

Gov. Marañon said the provincial government plans to implement more irrigation projects for the benefit of Negrense farmers.

He urged the farmers to take good care of the projects given to them and share them as well to other farmers.
Present in the activity were Dept. of Agriculture – NIR Director, Dr. Joyce Wendam, Provincial Consultant on Local Governance and Inter-Local Government Alliance for Agricultural Productivity, Rosamary Caunca, NIA Regional Irrigation Manager, Engr. Mario Sande, and Bago City officials, among others./Capitol News
