Negros Occidental Winds KATHA Award at IFEX 2017

Muy Bien Ventures owners Nancy Fernandez and Agnes Iida receives the KATHA Award from DTI USec. Nora K. Terrado and CITEM Executive Dir. Clayton Tugonon during the Networking Night of the 2017 IFEX at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

Muy Bien’s Turmeric with Calamansi Juice won the Katha Award “Best New Product” (Beverage Category) at the 2017 IFEX (International Food Exhibition) held at the World Trade Center in Manila, last week.

The Katha Awards pays tribute to Philippine food products and food applications that satisfy three major criteria: packaging design, product innovation, and market demand & readiness.

The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental has been joining the IFEX event since 2013.

The province’s participation in trade fairs and exhibits provides opportunities for micro enterprises to meet with a number of buyers and to take on new markets, as well as launch products and conduct business.

For this year, 12 food producers/processors from the province joined the event showcasing products such as banana chips, smoked/dried fish, pineapple/guyabano pastillas, scallop kropek and squid pasta, pastries, herbal teas and muscovado sugar.

The event was organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM-DTI) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture.*
