Considering the importance of storytelling to a child’s development, the Negros Occidental Provincial Library together with the BEED-Preschool students of Silay Institute headed by Language and Numeracy teacher Zoena Gomelao conducted a Storytelling Bonanza last August 31, 2013 at the Provincial Library.

Provincial Librarian Dr. Joyce Deloso disclosed that a total of 14 energetic street children participated in the activity.

Dr. Deloso further said that the program featured simple but fun storytelling and art activities which enhanced the children’s creativity, imagination, and self expression and added that aside from promoting the importance of reading, it also offered an excellent opportunity to reach out and share to the less fortunate children.* /CAPITOLNEWS
