PHIL. HOSPITAL ASS’N. CONFERS AWARD TO GOV. MARAÑON & DISTRICT HOSPITALS; OUTSTANDING NEWBORN SCREENING FACILITY NAMED
The Philippine Hospital Association (PHA) once again conferred an award to Gov. Joseph G. Marañon for his contribution to the task of providing health care services to his constituents.
For three consecutive years now since 2005, PHA continues to recognized Gov. Marañon’s effort especially in adopting an integrated and comprehensive approach to health development by bringing about essential health and other social services to Negrenses at affordable cost.
The award was presented to the Governor at the Capitol by Atty. Japhet Masculino and Dr. Rhoel Mogul of the Economic Enterprise Development Department in the presence of Vice Gov. Isidro P. Zayco and Provincial Board Member Dr. Miller Serondo.
Other PHA awardees included chiefs of hospital Dr. Ma. Girlie Pinongan of Cadiz District Hospital, Dr. Joventino Roque of Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Memorial District Hospital in Isabela and Dr. Claudelia Josefa Pabillo of Lorenzo Decena Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.
The hospital chiefs were cited for outstanding performance in initiating reforms and for responding to the emerging health needs of the Inter-Local Health Zones and other sectors of civil society by positively projecting the hospital as a center of excellence.
The PHA awarding body is led by Tiburcio Macias, President; Fidencio Aurelia, Chairman, Committee on Awards; Edgardo Salud, Overall Chairman and Jeremias Gonzales, Secretary.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) through Secretary Francisco Duque III and the National Institute of Health through Executive Director Lulu Bravo also conferred an Outstanding Newborn Screening Facility Award to the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial Hospital in La Carlota City, Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Memorial District Hospital in Isabela and Cadiz District Hospital.*/CAPITOL NEWS
