PASKWA SA NEGROS OPENS ON SUNDAY, DEC.16
The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental under Gov. Joseph G. Marañon, in collaboration with ABS-CBN Bacolod, is celebrating “Paskwa sa Negros” from December 16 – 22 at the Capitol Park and Lagoon, Bacolod City.
Highlighting the opening program on Sunday, December 16 is the motorcade/parade of Christmas Icons at 5pm and the ceremonial Switch-On of Christmas Lights and Décor around the Capitol complex to be led by Gov. Marañon, Vice Gov. Isidro P. Zayco, Provincial Board Members and local chief executives.
Following the opening program is a Christmas Show by Ms. Jo’s students at 7pm and the Santa Claus Contest at 8pm.
Other activities lined up in the weeklong “Paskwa sa Negros” every 6pm at the Capitol Lagoon include Angels of Christmas on Monday, Dec. 17; L’ecole Christmas Presentation on Tuesday, Dec. 18; Christmas Cantata at 6pm and Bantay Bata “Dinner for a Cause” at 7pm at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
A Christmas Vocal Solo Contest takes place on Thursday, Dec. 20 and Christmas Dance Showdown on Friday, Dec. 21.
“Daigon”, a traditional Ilonggo/Hiligaynon Christmas Show will cap the “Paskwa” on Saturday, Dec. 22. This will be followed by a closing program and awarding ceremony for the Christmas Tree and PNOC-EDC Lantern Making Contest.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) will also hold a daily “Fun Fishing for Kids at the Lagoon” from Dec. 16 to Dec. 22 starting 3pm until 5pm.*/CAPITOL NEWS
