A 40-foot container van
containing various items donated by the Medical Supplies
Network, Incorporated (MSNI) of the Rotary District 6110 of
Tulsa, Oklahoma is now at the Teresita L. Jalandoni
Provincial Hospital in Silay City.
The donation consisted of surgery, anesthesiology,
respiratory therapy, and urology equipment; central supply,
diagnostic, laboratory and nursing paraphernalia; orthopedic
and physical therapy apparatus, dental equipment and
hospital beds.
Jean Trebol, Jarie Yulo and Chole Chua of the St.
Scholastica’s Bacolod Alumnae Foundation, Inc., the group
who facilitated the donation and made sure that it reached
the intended beneficiary, turned over the medical equipment
and supplies to the Chief of Hospital Dr. Ma. Estrella
Ledesma in the presence of Vice Gov. Isidro P. Zayco.
During the third quarter of 2007, Rotarian Larry Biron, MSNI
Director for Operations and Stanley Togikawa from District
5000 Rotary Club of Ala Moana Shiraki Memorial Foundation in
Vancouver, Honolulu, Hawaii paid a courtesy visit to Gov.
Joseph G. Marañon and informed the provincial chief
executive of the donation.
The equipment will be used for the improvement of health
services for the poor and needy constituents who cannot
afford the cost of a laboratory examination and other
expenses in a private hospital.
Also present during the activity was Economic Enterprise
Development Department head Atty. Japhet Masculino and the
governor’s executive secretary Gerard Tupas.*/CAPITOL NEWS
