Press Release 2008           TRIBU MA-AO, BINUBUHAN & MAILUM WON IN BAGO CITY’S NEW GENERATION BABAYLAN FESTIVAL     Group number three composed of Barangays Ma-ao, Binubuhan and Mailum emerged as champion with P20,000 cash prize in the streetdancing competition’s final arena presentation dubbed as “Babaylan 2K8: The New Generation” conducted Sunday at the Bago City Coliseum in line with the city’s 42nd charter anniversary which kicked off on Valentine’s Day and will culminate today. Placing second is group number nine composed of Barangays Balingasag, Pacol and Don Jorge Araneta with P15,000 cash prize.     Group number four composed of Barangays Lag-asan, Poblacion, Sagasa and Caridad was in the third place with P10,000 cash prize. While group number ten representing Barangays Calumangan and Taloc was in the fourth place with P5,000 cash prize. Instead of the traditional ‘babaylan’ street dance and final arena presentation, this year’s competition has a new twist: that of ‘samba,’ using live music and various instruments. A total of 10 groups combining the different barangays of the city participated in the activity.
