The Provincial
Government of Negros Occidental through the Provincial
Veterinary Office (PVO) recently conducted a Veterinary
Medical Mission in Brgys. Antipolo and DSB, Municipality
of Pontevedra as requested by the Pontevedra Agriculture
Office.
A total of 464 heads of
carabao, 22 cattles, and five goats were vaccinated for
hemorrhagic septicemia and more than 2,000 heads of
poultry, swine, and goat were dewormed and received
vitamin supplements through the cooperation of the PVO
staff, Pontevedra Agriculture Office staff and volunteer
paraveterinarians.
The medical mission
started with an opening program held at Brgy. Antipolo
Gym followed by a dialogue with barangay residents and
officials.
There was also a film
viewing about rabies for the residents and volunteer
paravets were given veterinary biologics and day-old
