Acting Gov. Isidro P.
Zayco commended an Australian Youth Ambassador for
Development as the latter completed her 8-month
volunteer work at the Negros Island Sustainable
Agriculture and Rural Development Foundation, Inc. (NISARD)
and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental that
started on July last year.
Rebeka Freckleton is also
a Research Officer for Central Queensland University and
her volunteer assignment in the province included the
Development of Program Evaluation Tools for Sustainable
Rural Development Programs; she assisted in various
training programs conducted by the NISARD Foundation.
Acting Gov. Zayco who
signed the Certificate of Appreciation told Freckleton
that she is always welcome in the province whenever she
would want to visit again.
Her specific
assignments included the following: Analysis of results
of research survey on baseline studies on sustainability
and biodiversity in Negros Occidental done by Central
Queensland University and University of St. La Salle;
Field research survey and analysis of results on
baseline studies on production and agricultural
practices at upland coffee farms in La Castellana, La
Carlota, and EB Magalona areas; and field research
survey and analysis of results on baseline studies on
production and agricultural practices at Agrarian Reform
