Close to 50 officials are expected to participate in the
35th National Assembly of the League of Vice Governors
of the Philippines (LVGP) hosted by the Provincial
Government of Negros Occidental on Friday, March 7, 2008
at L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City. LVGP National
President Atty. Julius Caesar F. Herrera of Bohol
disclosed that the gathering kicks off the league’s
major island assemblies which will be held alternately
among Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to highlight the best
practices of the different provinces as well as become
the venue for members to exchange notes on local
initiatives.
The assembly will tackle the following topics: “Legal
Discussion on Issues Affecting the Sangguniang
Panlalawigan and the Office of the Vice Governor” and
the “Launching of the LVGP Alternative Learning Styles
Program for the Provinces.”
Negros Occidental Acting Gov. Isidro P. Zayco is an
appointed national officer who holds the position of
Business Manager.
LVGP’s National Executive Officers include Chairman
of the Board-Vice Gov. Jeremias Singson of Ilocos Sur;
Executive Vice President-Vice Gov. Alex Calingasan of
Bukidnon; Secretary General-Vice Gov. Jose Baldado of
Negros Oriental; Vice President for Luzon-Vice Gov.
Edward Thomas Joson of Nueva Ecija; Vice President for
Visayas-Vice Gov. Jesus Redaja of Western Samar and Vice
President for Mindanao-Vice Gov. Librado Navarro of
