PEMO conducts tree planting in murcia and don salvador

The Provincial Environment Management Office conducted a simultaneous tree planting activity in the upland barangays of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto, yesterday, as part of the Provincial Environment Week Celebration themed: Biodiversity: Our Life.


A total of 285 participants coming from the private and business sectors, academe, national government agencies, non-government organizations and the provincial government planted 7,000 seedlings of Almaciga, Baguilomboy, Acacia Mangium, Tuai and Bakan on a five -hectare land area in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia while a total of 197 participants covered the ten-kilometer road shoulder with 1,200 seedlings of Benguet Pines from Barangay Kumaliskis to Barangay Bunga in Don Salvador Benedicto.


Participating agencies include MASONS, PNP (NOPPO), Philippine Army, Barangay Council of Minoyan, CAPGEM, University of St. La Salle (USLS), Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod (CSA-B), Trinity Christian School (TCS), RU Foundry, PDMT – Rescue, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Landingan Farmers' Association (LAGFA) and provincial government departments and offices.
