Imports (Inbound)
from Domestic and Foreign sources for Negros Occidental was estimated
at 2,663,77 MT in 2007. The major commodities imported by the province
for the past three years were fertilizers and palay/rice from foreign
markets, and other general cargo, transport equipment, refined
petroleum and products, cement, fertilizer, palay/rice, and animal
feeds from domestic markets.
Exports, both
domestic and foreign, for Negros Occidental was estimated at 1,970,594
MT in 2007. The major commodities internationally exported are
sugar, molasses, and metaliferous ores/scrap, while local exports
consisted of sugar, transport equipment, bottled cargo, and other
general cargo.
There are 23
operational ports scattered all over Negros Occidental based on
PMO-Pulupandan records, 17 of which are private-operated and 6 are
government-operated.
