11 NOSP Pagkaon Scholars to Take Up Post Grad Studies in Taiwan

11 NOSP PAGKAON SCHOLARS TO TAKE UP POST GRADUATE STUDIES IN TAIWAN

Governor Bong Lacson met with the 11 Negrense-scholars, today, who are bound for Taiwan to pursue post graduate studies in the next months.

The scholars qualified for the NOSP Pagkaon Scholars – Master’s Degree in Taiwan, and are all BS Agriculture graduates of Catholic Ming Yuan College in the Municipality of Murcia.They are former NOSP Pagkaon scholars from the towns of Murcia and Hinobaan, and Bago City.

Six of them will take up Master’s Degree in Food Sciences at Fu Jen Catholic University while the other five will take up Master of Science in Green Technology for Sustainability at Nanhua University.

The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental paid for the scholars’ visa, medical fees, and airfare.

Gov. Lacson advised the scholars to do good in their studies and make the province proud of them.“Make the most of the opportunity given to you for you are going to learn something that you will use for the rest of your life,” he said.

Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz told the scholars to learn the modern agricultural technology in Taiwan, so they can share and apply their knowledge with the agriculturists in the province, and contribute to the improvement of the agriculture sector in the future.

Also present in the meeting were Fr. Yongxing Cui of the CMYC, Alfredo Barcelona, CMYC chairman of the Board, Prof. Mariam Castel, and Negros Occ. Scholarship Program headed by Karen Dinsay.
