The Province of Negros Occidental bagged the championship in the Excellence in Environmental Governance as part of the 2022 Excellence in Local Governance Awards, held in Iloilo City today.

The award is given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office VI.

The province also placed first runner-up in Excellence in Economic Governance, Excellence in Local Legislation, Excellence in Administrative Governance, and Excellence in Social Governance, and placed second runner-up in Excellence in Public Safety, Peace, and Order.
