The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental led this year’s Provincial Children’s Month in a program held yesterday (Nov. 4) at the Negros Occ. Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) in Bacolod City, with the theme, “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines”.

The annual event aims to strengthen public awareness of children’s rights and promote adequate protection and care for children from violence, particularly Children in Need of Special Protection (CNSP).

CNSP refers to children who were abandoned, neglected, exploited, maltreated, and abused children.

More than 30 families of CNSP also received livelihood assistance from the Provincial Government, as part of the activity.

Gov. Lacson said that the responsibility to uphold and protect the rights of every child, ensuring their safety and protection, must be embraced as a moral duty of every home, government, and society.

“Today, we must be reminded that the rights of our children are not mere aspirations; they form the very foundation upon which we build the future of humanity,” he said.

Also present at the activity were NOCPPO Director Colonel Rainero de Chavez, Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial President, Board Member Richard Sablan, and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Chiqui Gonzales, among others.*
