Displaced OFWs From San Carlos City and Calatrava Receive Cash Assistance

WATCH: Distribution of P5,000 Financial Assistance of the Province to 21 distressed/displaced OFWs of Calatrava and San Carlos City as part of the 100 beneficiaries.

Governor Bong Lacson led the distribution of financial assistance worth P5,000 each to 21 displaced/distressed OFWs from San Carlos City and Municipality of Calatrava, this morning.

The OFW beneficiaries are part of the recipients of the Gender Responsive Intervention to COVID-19 and New Normal Project of the Provincial Government, which is funded through the Provincial Gender and Development (GAD) Budget.

A total of 200 displaced OFWs were identified as beneficiaries of the program for the year 2020 and 2021.

More OFWs from the cities of Victorias and Talisay, and the towns of E.B. Magalona, Valladolid, and Murcia have already received the same cash assistance in previous distributions.

Today’s activity was held at the Capitol Social Hall, and witnessed by former OFW and vice chair of the Provincial Committee on Migration and Development (PCMD), Sally Barrios; Provincial GAD Action Officer and PCMD Secretary, Marie June Castro; Ana Lim of the Provincial Planning and Development Office and OFW Focal Person and designated MRC staff; and Engr. Jojo Amugod, Jennifer Melliza, and April Duran of the Special Projects and Concerns Division.
