84 Negrense LSIs arrived via PAL sweeper flight

A total of 84 stranded Negrenses were brought home safely via Philippine Airlines sweeper flight at around 2pm at the Bacolod-Silay Airport, today.

Governor Bong Lacson previously initiated and arranged the said sweeper flight with PAL following the recent suspension of commercial flights.

All passengers had RT-PCR tests upon arrival at the five swab-testing booths installed at the airport, and were endorsed to the respective LGUs where they reside, facilitated by the Provincial Incident Management Team.

According to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) – Bacolod Information Office, the Bacolod-Silay airport is ready for the new normal or their operations, and they will ensure that wearing of face masks and social distancing are properly observed at the airport.

They also said passengers who will have a thermal scan result of above 37.6, will be endorsed to the health authorities for assistance.

Sweeper flights are scheduled on June 9 – 11, 2020 are Manila to Bacolod and vice versa, and needs prior registration from the Provincial Tourism Office through Negros Occidental Tourism Division facebook page.

Passengers are also required to have medical certificates from their local health offices and Travel authority from the local PNP.
