Gov. Lacson Signs Pledge of Commitment for Peace and Poverty Reduction

WATCH: Negros Occidental Gov. Bong Lacson signed the Pledge of Support and Commitment for the implementation of “Vamos sa Barangay Buluangan at Guadalupe para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran”, which was launched yesterday (August 31) at Brgy. Buluangan, San Carlos City.

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson signed the Pledge of Support and Commitment for the implementation of “Vamos sa Barangay Buluangan at Guadalupe para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran”, which was launched yesterday (August 31) at Brgy. Buluangan, San Carlos City.

The said project aims to build a peaceful and progressive community through collaborative efforts among government offices and stakeholders.

The project, which is under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC), is spearheaded by TESDA or the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, House of Representatives, San Carlos City government, and partner agencies.

Among the partner agencies are Dept. of Labor and Employment, Dept. of Education, Philippine Information Agency, Dept. of Trade and Industry, Dept. of Agriculture, Dept. of Agrarian Reform, Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Cooperative Development Authority, Dept. of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, and 79th Infantry Battalion Philippine Army.

Also present at the activity were First District Rep. Gerardo Valmayor, Jr., San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, TESDA VI Regional Director Jerry Tizon, TESDA – Negros Occidental Romelia Nuezca, and other local officials who also signed in the Pledge of Support and Commitment for the said project
