Governor Bong Lacson visited the vegetable farm of the Myrrianne Youth Farmers Organization (MYFO) located at Hacienda Myrianne, Brgy. San Pablo, Municipality of Manapla, today, which is a recipient of the Provincial Government’s Solar Irrigation Project.

The said project is worth P6.9 Million, funded by the province through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.

It started its construction last September 2020 and is now 90% completed and scheduled for inauguration next month; it has an estimated serviceable area of 30 – 50 hectares.

Gov. Lacson was welcomed by Mayor Manuel Escalante III, San Pablo Barangay Captain Josefa Cabayao, Municipal Agriculturist Alejandro Malijoc, and young farmers led by MYFO Chairman, Jison dela Cruz.

Gov. Lacson said that he is happy to see children who are very much interested and engaged in agriculture.

He also assured them of more agricultural support and projects from the provincial government.

The group plants vegetables and other high value crops in a 600 square meters farm, which is also proposed as one of the agri-tourism destinations in the town.

The said farm is one of the Abanse Negrense Farm Youth Vegetable Gardens and High Value Crops Farm Areas in the province. The organization was organized in year 2018; it was also awarded 2nd Place in Innovative Technology during the Search for the Most Outstanding Young Farmer Organization (4H Club) of Negros Occidental in December 2020.
