LIGA NG MGA BARANGAY PROVINCIAL SUMMIT
Governor Bong Lacson Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer attended the Liga ng mga Barangay – Negros Occidental Provincial Summit held at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City, yesterday, together with Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. and other officials.
According to Gov. Lacson, the vital role of the barangay cannot be over emphasized in nation building and in achieving the collective goals as a province and as a country.
He lauded the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas Negros Occidental Chapter, headed by Board Member Juvy Pepello, for the successful assembly, and thanked all punong barangays and officials for their dedication and commitment to service.
“I urge our barangay officials to seriously pursue the barangay assemblies so that we are constantly conscious and aware of the sentiments and needs of our people. This is crucial to our aim to have inclusive and relevant governance,” he said.
“Let us not allow our differences of opinion, political beliefs get in the way of our primary role as public servants. Together, let us make integrity, hard work, and commitment to service, our compass in leading and serving our fellow Negrenses, said the governor.
