PANAAD 2020 CANCELLED

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, and the city and municipal mayors of the province unanimously agreed to cancel this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival scheduled on April 20 – 26, 2020 due to the COVID-19 threat.

The decision was made earlier today in a meeting with the Negros Association of Chief Executives held at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City.

According to the governor, despite the initial preparations made for the annual festival, the health, safety and well-being of all Negrosanons are the top priorities.

The governor also asked for the active involvement and cooperation of all the chief executives following the issuance of Executive Order No. 20-15, An Order Implementing the Closure of Borders, Ports and Airports of Negros Occidental, last night that took effect immediately and shall remain in effect until April 14, 2020.

The governor also encouraged them to report and monitor all PUMs in their respective towns and cities, particularly those passengers coming from Manila.
