Watch: 2021 PCL Week Celebration held at Social Hall, Provincial Capitol.
The officers of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) – Negros Occidental Federation, led by its president, Board Member Ryan Gamboa, led the PCL Week celebration held at the Capitol Social Hall, this morning (Sept. 3).
The weeklong activity is themed, “2021 PCL Week: Unified Towards Strengthening COVID-19 Pandemic Response”.
The PCL and the Provincial Government also signed a Memorandum of Agreement that provides funding support worth P1 Million for PCL priority projects this year by the Province. The accomplishments of PCL – Negros Occ. for the year 2020 – 2021 was presented at the opening program.
Gov. Bong Lacson said that the pandemic has elevated the crucial role of public servants and tested their courage and commitments as servants of the people.
He also shared the accomplishments of the present administration that were successfully implemented against the backdrop of a pandemic, in terms of health, COVID response, education, livelihood, and assistance to displaced OFWs among others, as stated in his State of the Province Address.
“The course of action we are going to take, which on your part involves the swift and timely crafting and passing of ordinances and resolutions to answer the different needs of your LGU, including COVID-19 responses, shall determine your future,” said the governor.
Gov. Lacson also said he hopes the PCL assembly will strengthen the PCL unity and cooperation as they address the varied needs of their constituency.
Also present at the activity were Board Member Pal Guanzon and Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz.
