The Population and Development Division of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, in collaboration with the Department of Education, spearheaded the Provincial Peer Educators Learning Summit 2022, held at Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City on October 28, 2022.

The activity is held in support of the adolescent health and development program of the DOH as well as to encourage youth involvement in public and civic affairs.

Gov. Bong Lacson led the awarding of the Provincial Outstanding Peer Educators of the year as part of the summit.

The governor said that peer educators encourage positive and proactive participation and involvement among peers, thus, they need to be protected and empowered to reach their utmost potential. “On the part of the Provincial Government, we will endeavor to create an enabling environment for positive youth engagement and empowerment in order to help shape the future,” he said.

The activity is themed, “Katin-aran sang Pungsod: Peer Educators sang Negros Naga-buylog”.
