More than 1,000 beneficiaries availed of free minor and major operations, and other medical services during a surgical mission held at the Valladolid District Hospital spearheaded by Nikki Cares Foundation along with the Makati Medical Center Foundation last April 27 – 29, 2023.
Among the minor cases attended to during the three-day mission included almost 200 incisions and 72 circumcisions.
Close to 100 were classified under general surgery and 24 were OB cases. Almost 500 availed of eye check up and free reading glasses.
The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through the 2022 Gender and Development Budget gave P2 million to Nikki Cares Foundation, which is headed by Mrs. Dominique “Nikki” Lopez-Benitez, as support to their project.
The Provincial GAD Focal Point System also approved P1 million from the 2023 GAD Fund as support to the women’s health project of the foundation.
Doctors and nurses of the Makati Medical Center joined the surgical mission that benefited thousands of indigent beneficiaries of Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City.
Governor Bong Lacson visited the VDH during the last day of the surgical mission.
