TRAINING ON COMMUNITY-BASED DRUG REHAB PROGRAM HELD

Governor Bong Lacson attended the two-day Trainers’ Training on Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program that started last Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City, organized by the Liga ng mga Barangay-Negros Occidental Chapter.

The training was participated in by substance abuse coordinators, social workers, members of the PNP, Members of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas – Negros Occidental Chapter led by Board Member Juvy Pepello, and members of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

“We are here today to continue and sustain the momentum to clear our society of the drug menace,” said Gov. Lacson.

He pointed out that one of the most important advocacies of the local government, particularly in the barangays level, is the eradication of substance abuse through the community-based drug rehabilitation program.

“May this training be an effective avenue to increase your capacities on how we can further advance our common goal to make our barangays, our country, and our future, drug free,” said the governor.

Also present on the first day of training were DILG Negros Occ. Provincial Director, Roselyn Quintana, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Provincial Officer, Jyxyvzcky Escrupolo, Myrtle Lamboso, Administrator of the Negros Occ. Drug Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc., and Marc Katalbas, CBRP and Mental Health Coordinator, Negros Occidental, among others.

Gov. Lacson also lauded and thanked the dedication and commitment of partner agencies and concerned organizations and individuals in the fight against illegal drugs in the province.
