All 15 barangays of the Municipality of Ilog, which were affected by the recent typhoon, received food packs, seedlings, and construction materials in a relief operation led by Negros Occidental Gov. Bong Lacson in the town, today.

A total of 2,944 recipients from the barangays of Andulauan, Consuelo, Brgy. 1, Brgy. 2, Calubang, Vista Alegra, Manalad, Delicioso, Dancalan, Bocana, Galicia, Tabu, Balicotoc, Pinggot, and Canlamay, received the assistance in separate venues organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

The governor personally supervised the distribution of the goods and materials, together with 6th District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, and Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, along with the PSWDO led by OIC Merle Garcia and Provincial Engineer’s Office headed by Engr. Ernie Mapa.

The provincial officials were welcomed by Ilog Mayor John Paul Alvarez, former 6th District representative, Mercedes Alvarez, and other local officials.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the assistance extended to them by the provincial government.

Gov. Bong Lacson said that the distribution of the assistance will continue in typhoon-affected LGUs of the province to ensure that the typhoon victims can rebuild their homes and restore their livelihood.
