World War II Veterans Receive Financial Assistance

Eight surviving World War II veterans each received financial assistance worth P20,000 each, intended for their maintenance and other medical needs.

The assistance was released through the Provincial Peace and Order Council in celebration of the Negros Victory Day and as part of Peace Month for the month of September.

The eight surviving WWII veterans in the province are Rodrigo Salvacion Olis of Victorias City, Eustaquio Esparar Osorio of Pontevedra, Samson Araneta Gonzaga of Bago City, Vicente Montalvo Tabefrancia of Isabela, Ricardo Nicavera Bravo of Hinigaran, Segundo Alipon Maravilla of Himamaylan, and Felipe Padilla Bañares and Roberto Alisbo Abadiano, both of Kabankalan City.

The Public Affairs Section – SPCD, Office of the Provincial Administrator together with the Provincial Treasurer’s Office facilitated the validation and distribution of the release assistance to the veterans this week.
