Cauayan District Animal Health Center Inauguration

To ensure effective and efficient delivery of veterinary services, the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental established the Abanse Negrense District Animal Health Center (ANDAHC) located in Brgy. Poblacion, Municipality of Cauayan.

Governor Bong Lacson led its inauguration yesterday, September 8, 2022, together with Board Members Jeffrey Tubola, and Andrew Montelibano, and Cauayan Mayor John Rey Tabujara.

The facility serves as a satellite center of the Provincial Animal Learning Park and Hospital and Provincial Veterinary Office District Field Office Unit, that will cater to animal health care and related services.

The animal health center is a joint undertaking between the province and the partner-LGU of the district concerned.

The province facilitated the construction of the center and provided the necessary equipment while Cauayan, as the partner-LGU, provided the lot.

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed to ensure the center’s successful operation.

Among the services that will be made available in the animal center are veterinary consultation, medical treatment, deworming, vitamin supplementation, laboratory tests, and surgery-castration.

The Provincial Veterinary Office led by Dr. Placida Lemana also facilitated the distribution of free-range chicks, pekin ducks, napier and trichantera planting material, and veterinary drugs to farmers associations and animal raisers, CPSU – Cauayan, and LGUs of the Sixth District.
