GOV. LACSON WELCOMES PHILSUTECH DELEGATES TO NEGROS

Governor Bong Lacson welcomed the delegates and visitors who attended the ongoing 68th PHILSUTECH Annual National Convention held at SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City, today.

Joining Gov. Lacson at the opening ceremonies were PHILSUTECH officers led by its president, Jose Maria Valmayor, and Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.

Gov. Lacson said that PHILSUTECH has always been at the forefront of introducing innovative sugarcane farming technology and techniques.

He also said that the country’s sugar industry continues to face manifold challenges, yet amidst the numerous factors affecting its highs and lows, PHILSUTECH intently and keenly finds ways to optimize the sugar production through science, technology, and economics.

“May this national convention enable you to accomplish the advancement we need, and further our collective goal to sustain and uplift our sugar industry and the hundreds of thousands of Filipinos depending on it,” he said.

The Philippine Sugar Technologists Assn., Inc. or PHILSUTECH is an organization of sugarcane technologists and sugar industry stakeholders in the country.

This year’s convention held in Negros Occidental is the first in-person convention of PHILSUTECH since the pandemic started.
