Gov thanks private groups for donating 7,000 RT-PCR test kits

Governor Bong Lacson thanked the private sector group for mobilizing their resources to purchase 7,000 RT-PCR test kits for Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

According to the group, the Bayanihan Test Kit initiative was conceptualized by Mary Jean Trebol along with the St. Scholastica’s Bacolod Alumnae Foundation because the group saw the need for the private sector to help the local government in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and tapped the business sector and sugar industry stakeholders to donate to the cause.

They also said that the sugar advocacy group, Tatak Kalamay, also took part in mobilizing industry stakeholders and facilitated initial discussions with various groups, including the province, on the project’s implementation.

Present during the turnover were VMC President Minnie Chua and VMC Administrative Officer, Atty. Eva Rodriguez, Gerro Locsin and Dave Alba for AALCPI, Theo Chua for MC Metroplex, Nathaniel Barcoma for VCY Sales, Sugar Regulatory Administration Board Member, Atty. Dino Yulo along with Board Members Andrew Montelibano and Manman Ko.
