Gov to former Negrense rebels: “THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING PEACE.”

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson showed appreciation to former Negrense rebels for choosing peace and for deciding to join the mainstream society, during the distribution of cash assistance to E-CLIP beneficiaries held at the Provincial Capitol, today.

The beneficiaries of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) were from the cities of Escalante and Bago, and Municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto.

A total of 18 former rebels received immediate and reintegration assistance worth 36,000 each in a turn over ceremony attended by Governor Lacson, 303rd Brigade Commander, Col. Inocencio Pasaporte, NOCPPO Director, Police Col. Romy Palgue, DILG Provincial Director Atty. Ferdinand Panes, and Lt. Col. Gerard Alvaran, commanding officer of the Philippine Army’s 79th IB, among others.

Governor Lacson said the provincial government is always ready to help them. He advised them to spend the assistance given to them wisely, especially in this time of pandemic.

Col. Palgue said that all beneficiaries are important, and they have made the right decision to become peace advocates.

Meanwhile, Atty. Panes said that he hopes the beneficiaries will honor their commitment and have mutual respect with the government. He added that the DILG, AFP and PNP are willing to help and assist them always.

Col. Pasaporte also that the government is sincere in its commitment to help former rebels who choose to have a renewed life.
