3rd District LGUs Receive Livelihood Program

Governor Bong Lacson led the distribution of 156 heads of breeder piglets to the towns and cities of the Negros Occidental Third District, earlier today in Silay City.The activity was attended by livestock breeders of the cities of Silay Victorias, Talisay and the municipalities of Murcia and E.B. Magalona, who are also members of the Alliance of Hog Raisers Association of Negros Occidental (AHRANO).

The livelihood project is part of the Provincial Animal Genetic Improvement Program under the Provincial Veterinary Office.The PVO also distributed veterinary drugs, supplies and biologics, and allowance for all paravets of the Third District.

The livelihood program, that has been implemented in almost all districts of the province, aims to ensure food security and sustainable development in the province.

Present in the activity were Third District Board Members Andrew Montelibano and Manuel Frederick Ko, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez, Mayor Gerry Rojas and SB Anton Gonzaga of Murcia, SB Joemarie Escala of EB Magalona, Talisay City Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Raymond Gellekanao, EB Magalona Municipal Agriculturist, Rhett Parcon, Victorias City Veterinarian, Dr. Froilan Juntilla, and other guests from private company partners such as Unahco-Pigrolac and Univet Thunderbird.
