Governor Bong Lacson and Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo spearheaded the distribution of 42 land title certificates to the beneficiaries of the Handog Titulo Program of the Municipality of Hinigaran, yesterday.
The awarding of land titles is a project of the local government of Hinigaran in coordination with Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – DENR. The beneficiaries were issued free patents to residential lands under Republic Act No. 10023 or Residential Free Patent Act that provides rights to residents to own unregistered lands, which they have occupied for at least ten years.
The distribution was held at Hinigaran Covered Court in the presence of Edgardo Rostata, OIC Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) – Negros Occidental, Hinigaran Vice Mayor Teresita Gabrido and Sangguniang Bayan Members, among others.
