LGUs Receive Firetrucks; Coast Guard Gets Ambulance/Rescue Boat

Gov. Bong Lacson led in the turn over of six units of firetrucks to the Municipality of Pulupandan and the cities of La Carlota, Escalante, Talisay, San Carlos and Bacolod, and one rescue/ambulance boat to the Philippine Coast Guard – Negros Occidental, in a ceremony held at the Capitol Grounds in Bacolod City, today.

The firetrucks were released through the Dept. of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Negros Occ. while the ambulance boat that costs P3.5 Million was funded through the Negros Occ. Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC).

Meanwhile, a total of 200 wheelchairs and 26 eye glasses from the Dept. of Health (DOH) Region VI were also turned over to the senior citizens and PWDs from the different cities and municipalities of the province, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

Present in the turn over ceremony were Provincial Disaster Management Program Division Head Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, Negros Occ. Provincial Fire Marshal, Supt. Pamela Rojane Candido, PCG-Negros Occ. Chief, Lt. Commander Jansen Benjamin, and Fatima Daiz of DILG – Negros Occ., among others.
