Gov. Eugenio Jose V. Lacson congratulates Jerson Neturada Pillones for passing the Licensure Examination for Master Electrician given on September 4, 2023 in Manila.
Pillones, 22 years old and a resident of Brgy. Mambaroto, Sipalay City was one of the 20 grantees composing the first batch of Negrense- Dualtech scholars who were deployed to Laguna on June 1, 2019.
He studied Electro-mechanics Technology for six months at Dualtech Training Center and spent his 18 months in-plant training at Transcend Technologies, Inc. in Biñan, Laguna.
He graduated on November 27, 2021 and was immediately absorbed by Transcend Technologies, Inc, after graduation as Technician for facility maintenance.
He is the first Negrense scholar who passed the board exam and he is grateful to the Provincial Government led by Gov. Lacson for the support given to him while he was still a student and even after graduation.
Pillones said that studying in Laguna was challenging because he was far from home and when the pandemic broke out, his resolve to stop schooling became stronger because it was too difficult for him.
He added that “however, I thought of all the people who encouraged and supported me to finish schooling and I persevered”.
Karen Dinsay, NOSPD head said that this program is a testament that government intervention through scholarship is life-changing.
Gov. Lacson said that he is inspired to support more students who are willing to study electro mechanics technology in Laguna and follow in the footsteps of Jerson Pillones, RME. *#AbanseNegrense
