Governor Bong Lacson presided over the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) Third Quarter Meeting held this afternoon at Negros Residences in Bacolod City.
PCPC Secretariat Head and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Head, Merle Garcia, presented the Local State of the Children Report and Feedback Report of the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) Provincial Rollout Training.
Annie Calderon of DILG – Negros Occidental presented the new guidelines on PCPC Secretariat, while Niel Mapa of the Provincial Legal Office gave an update of the Welfare Code for Children.
PCPC is composed of concerned Capitol offices, national government agencies, and non-government agencies and organizations who work together to coordinate activities and pool resources for the benefit of Negrense children.
It is organized to be an efficient and effective advocate of children’s rights, implementing programs at the local levels, and mandated to coordinate the implementation and enforcement of policies and programs for children.
Present in the meeting were Negros Occ. Board Members Rita Gatuslao and Juvy Pepello, among other council members.
