As the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental continues its relief operations to typhoon-affected LGUs in Southern Negros, Governor Bong Lacson led today’s distribution of food assistance and housing materials to 2,368 residents of the 17 barangays in Sipalay City. Each recipient received six corrugated GI sheets, two plain GI sheets, five kilos of rice and four canned goods; they also received high value crops seeds.
The governor was with 6th District Rep. Mercedes Alvarez, 6th District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, Sipalay City Mayor Gina Lizares, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Disaster Management Program Head, Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office OIC Merle Garcia, and Provincial Engineer, Ernie Mapa.
The Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard, also assisted in the activity.
