GEORISKPH PLATFORMS TRAINING CULMINATES
The two-day Training Course on the Use of GeoRiskPH Platforms as a hazard and risk assessment tool for the local government units (LGUs), ended today at Negros Residences in Bacolod City.
Governor Bong Lacson thanked DOST – PHIVOLCS and GeoRiskPH for helping the province enhance its resiliency and further capacitate the DRRM of LGUs, through the said training.
He said that the province is committed to keep abreast and adhere to science-based technology tools and reliable information to effectively address disaster risk reduction.
He also said that the training will bolster disaster response and climate change adaptation and will save lives and properties of Negrenses.
The training was conducted by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental in partnership with DOST-PHIVOLCS, and aimed at equipping LGUs with a more efficient hazard and risk assessment, data collection, data sharing and analysis.
