STI West Negros University Team was named champion of the Abanse Negrense Governor’s Cup 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament on December 10, 2022 at STI WNU Gymnasium in Bacolod City.
The Dumaguete City Team was 1st runner-up while Bacolod City-ABB placed 2nd runner up.
The said tournament, spearheaded by the Provincial Sports Office, is a tribute to the late Oscar “Dodong” Bascon’s contributions to Negros basketball.
Governor Bong Lacson led the awarding of the winners together with former Board Member Agustin Ernesto Bascon and Carminia Gatuslao – Bascon, and Provincial Sports Coordinator Anthony Carlo Agustin.
