MORE NEGRENSE SKILLED WORKERS BOUND FOR JAPAN
Another batch of Negros Occidental skilled workers who are scheduled to leave for Japan on Friday, April 22, 2022, paid a courtesy visit to Govenor Bong Lacson and Provincial Administrator, Rayfrando Diaz at the Capitol, this afternoon.
Some of the skilled workers are scholars of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental while some are regular trainees of Power Foundation, Inc. headed by Atty. Pauline Nuega and Alan Nuega.
The scholars and trainees came from different cities and municipalities of the province. They finished their short-term courses on Welding and Cookery with Basic Japanese Language and Culture at Power Foundation, Inc., a private partner agency of the Provincial Government that arms Negrenses with knowledge and skills for work opportunities in Japan.
The goal of the program is to provide skills training and prepare the qualified applicants for the huge demand of Filipino workers to work in Japan in the construction and food industries.
Last year, the Provincial Government turned over P2.5 Million to Power Foundation for the scholarship of 125 students in both Welding and Cookery Courses, and 14 of them are already in Japan, four of them are leaving on Friday while others are also scheduled for interview.
Gov. Lacson said that Japan is a good country for Filipinos compared to other countries in terms of employment.
He advised them to work hard, persevere, and be loyal to their companies because Japanese people value loyalty. He said that their success is also their families’ success.
The governor also thanked Power Foundation for being a good partner of the Provincial Government in training quality workers and giving them employment opportunities in Japan.
