The Province of Negros Occidental was awarded P1,240,000 Grant from the Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center VI for the implementation of Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES).Negros Occidental has been chosen as the pilot province in Region VI for the implementation of the said program.

The province will serve as an extension hub that synchronizes agricultural plans and programs as well as coordinate the activities of various stakeholders, while the Dept. of Agriculture will co-plan, co-invest, co-implement, and co-monitor priority projects.

Gov. Bong Lacson received the grant at the Capitol yesterday, in the presence of Mary Ann Ramos, Center Director ATI RTC VI; Vianney Ojerio, Senior Agriculturist, PAFES focal person ATI RTC VI; Jerick Navarro, Technical Support Staff VI, PAFES Coordinator, Negros Occidental; and Welsie Deimos, Assistant APCO PAFES Regional Coordinator.

Also present were Provincial Supervising Agriculturist Dr. Dina Genzola and Provincial Veterinary Office OIC Dr. Placeda Lemana, among others.#AbanseNegrense
